Make a Ring Silversmithing Workshop in New York { Jan/Feb 2025 }

PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION OF CLASS  AND PAYMENT POLICIES BEFORE PURCHASING. BY PURCHASING YOU AGREE TO ALL TERMS DESCRIBED BELOW.

Purchase this product to schedule a private/semi private silversmithing class in early FEBRUARY  2025.

There are pricing options for 1, 2 or 3 students, or by way of a $100  deposit.  The balance will be due on the day of your class.

This class is on offer as a 1 on 1, 1 on 2 or 1 on 3.  A 1 on 1 may be completed in 3 hours, but  keep your schedule free for 4 just in case we need more time.

A class with 2 or 3 students will definitely use the entire 4 hours, and seems to push into the 5 hour time frame depending on the pace of the students .

PRICING BREAKDOWN

Private;  1 on 1 for $350.

Semi private;  1 on 2 for $320 per student

Semi Private; 1 on 3 for $300 per student

What to expect during class :

This class is super fun! Get to know the inner workings of a silversmiths studio by making your very own ring under my guidance and instruction.  No experience is necessary. I’ll get you through it- I promise!

In this 3-5 hour class we will cover basic silversmithing techniques including annealing, sawing, soldering, polishing, and bezel setting a stone. You will leave the class with one completed ring made by your own hands. Choose from my stone selection or bring your own. Please see the additional photos in this listing for examples of the rings we will make.  Please note that this class is for a simple bezel set ring without embellishments. I know it’s tempting to want to go crazy with the designs, but  for beginners, keeping it simple  is going to be plenty challenging enough!  If you would like to add embellishments, like a rope or beaded border, or individual silver bubbles, there will be an additional $50 fee to do so. And it adds about an hour to the class so please schedule accordingly. I’ll offer this at the beginning of the class to see if you’d like to .

Available Time Slots for Class

*these are general time slots, I will email you after you purchase, or email/DM me before purchase to lock in an exact date and time.

January 25 – any time all day into evening.

January 26 – morning class. must start no later than 11am

January 27th any time all day or evening

February 4th. Any time 2pm into evening

February 5th – any time all day or evening

February 6th- class must end by 4 pm, so it must begin noon the latest, but earlier start time available.

February 7th – class must end by 4 pm so it must begin by noon the latest, earlier start time available

February 8 – 9 am start time, ends by 1 . Our Closing party will be held this afternoon so you’ll be welcome to stay to hang out and shop, and sip /snack.

February 9- any time all day or evening

February 10- any time all day or evening

February 11- any time until 1 pm start time. Class must be complete by 5 pm

***Things to Consider***

If you bring your own stone, please show me your stone prior to the class to be sure it is the correct stone cut for the setting. We are using flat back cabochons. Do not bring an opal. They are too delicate for beginners and we don’t want to break your stone. No exceptions.

Not all of my collection of stones will be available but a nice selection will be on offer, we can discuss this ahead of time if you like. You’ll have at least 50 different stones to choose from.

Bringing your own stone versus using mine does not affect the price of the class.

We will be working in fine and sterling silver. No gold. All materials and tools will be provided for you.

If you choose to do a semi private, you must coordinate with your own friend(s). These are not public sessions for me to group students together.

Cancellations:

These workshops are being held during a limited time trip for me to NY so there is a strict refund/cancellation policy because my schedule is tight and space is limited.

If you cancel your class more than 48 hours ahead of your scheduled class, you will be refunded all but a $100 deposit.  Cancellations within the 48 hour time limit will forfeit the entire class fee.  If you would like to reschedule we can try to reschedule during the time that I am home but is not guaranteed because of my tight schedule.  Or , we can push off until the summer and you can come to my new home studio in my garage or on fire island.
